the test depends on the CPLD content. You need to integrate the CPLD into the circuit, use a logic analyzer, or create a computer-based tester.

I have a vintage 3COM LAN adapter for 16 bit ISA. The adapter has a DIP socket for BIOS. My idea is to get a BIOS, place it into EPROM or Flash to this socket and start the PC from this BIOS...
